APSARA National Authority and Immersive Angkor Sign Memorandum of Understanding
On September 26, 2024, the APSARA National Authority (ANA) and Immersive Angkor signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on the Immersive Angkor Museum. This partnership leverages combined expertise to increase Angkor’s global visibility, promote sustainable tourism, and support heritage preservation through an innovative tourism destination in Siem Reap.

Key Pillars of the Memorandum of Understanding
The collaboration focuses on four strategic areas:
- Immersive Angkor will develop and manage the "Immersive Angkor Museum"
- ANA will oversee the project's content to ensure historical accuracy and cultural sensitivity.
- Immersive Angkor will conduct high-resolution 3D scans of specific Angkor monuments under ANA’s guidance. This digital data and all 3D reconstructions will be shared with the authority to support long-term preservation efforts.
- Immersive Angkor will provide specialized training on 3D scanning technologies to ANA teams as a core component of the collaboration.
A Shared Vision for Cambodia’s Cultural Legacy

Soreasmey KE BIN, CEO of Immersive Angkor, emphasized “The signing of this MoU marks a pivotal milestone, moving this project toward real implementation. Once completed, the Immersive Angkor Museum will deepen visitors' understanding of Cambodia's cultural heritage while ensuring the preservation of its legacy and significantly enhancing Siem Reap's cultural offerings."
H.E. Kosal LONG, ANA Deputy Director-General and spokesman, highlighted the importance of this public-private partnership: "The Royal Government of Cambodia, through ANA, is committed to welcoming investments in tourism that improve visitors' knowledge of the Angkor Archaeological Park. This collaboration exemplifies how we can work together to achieve these goals."
Advancing the Immersive Angkor as Debut Project Moves to Implementation

Immersive Angkor is part of Legendary Group, and was co-initiated by Confluences and Tandem, in collaboration with Iconem. This partnership leverages the technical expertise of Iconem, known for its work in the 3D digital preservation of heritage sites, and Legendary, which focuses on operational aspects of project implementation.
This 1,400-square-meter museum has the capacity to welcome up to 1,500 visitors per day, accommodating 180 visitors per hour during peak times. The immersive hall itself spans 1,000 square meters, featuring 7-meter-high projection walls that guarantee a unique and engaging experience. This immersive journey will transport visitors through the history of Angkor’s temples, utilizing high-tech scans to recreate their architectural evolution.
Recognized at the highest institutional levels, the project was presented to the ICC Angkor in 2022 and received the personal endorsement of Prime Minister Samdech Thipadei HUN MANET in January 2024 (to link to previous article), highlighted the project as a bridge between Cambodia’s rich cultural legacy and the younger generation.
